Polanco’s still probably a solid defender; the Fans Scouting Report still has him ranked very highly, behind only three or four legitimate defenders and Orlando Hudson. I like the order of that list, he could be a +8 2B. The bat is what may not stick, but anything’s better than what you guys ran out there this season at second.

But I agree on Gomez over Young. The “investment” reasoning is also poor. Young might very well be the definition of “sunk costs” for the Twins.
