When I wrote the post, I assumed the signing would be for much more than the 1.5 million he received. 1.5 million (plus incentives of course) for a bat of his caliber is very worth it and is a very shrewd signing by Smith.

They will still need to DFA someone and I still would like a 4th OF who can play center, but I like this signing.</description>
